I needed a "munchy" for a holiday get together. Two friends gave me this recipe so I thought I would try it.
Seasoned (Spicy) Snack Crackers
Stir one envelope dry ranch dressing and two tablespoons of red pepper flakes into one cup of canola oil.
Place one box (four sleeves) of saltines or 2 packages of oyster crackers in an airtight container (a plastic zipper bag works) and drizzle oil mixture over crackers, toss/turn occasionally letting the flavors meld for a day or two before serving.
Side note ~ These crackers do have a kick so if you think two tablespoons of red pepper flakes may be to much try one tablespoon. I also put the crackers in a large bowl, poured in a little bit of the dressing mixture at a time and tossed. These crackers can be eaten with cheese and any kind of meat, with chili or the way we liked them by themselves.
Variation -- instead of pepper flakes, use 1 tablespoon dill weed and 1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper.
I must say we did not let the crackers sit for a day or two we just dove in. We could not stop. One of my kids is not a cracker person and he loved them.
